Studying, or looking at Twitter?
True Story: I went to college, on and off for the past 12 years or so. For my undergrad I went to Keene State and it was amazing. Four years of sorority fun, best friends, parties…and some studying. College is the most fun you will ever have in your life with no guilt involved. Where else can you have that amount of freedom and fun? Nowhere, I tell ya. I met my husband at Keene State and my best friend.
I probably spent about a zillion dollars on books there, at about $100 a pop. Let’s see…I took about 40 classes in four years…that’s about $4000 on books, right? Yikes. What I would spend $4000 on now.
A massive shopping spree.
An island vacation with my husband, sipping Mojito’s on the beach…
I then graduated, got married, worked four years (and moved four times, oh the military…) In 2005 I went back to school and got my Master’s in Reading Education. That took me about six years on and off (I graduated last December!), two moves, two kids and countless hours trying to do an online presentation with children crying in the background. Oh if I could do it again.
Recently I was contacted by CampusBookRentals.com. I wasn’t sure about how I could fit this post into my lifestyle since I am not personally in school anymore. What really sold me was that, for each textbook rented, CampusBookRentals.com gives a donation to Operation Smile. Operation Smile helps perform life changing cleft lip surgeries for those in need. In my opinion, any company that helps makes children’s lives better is a company I would (and do) stand behind.
Some facts about CampusBookRentals.com:
-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
I think it is a really cool idea to be able to rent textbooks at a huge discount instead of having to buy them at the campus bookstore at rip off prices like I had to, back in the dinosaur ages. You know, before cell phones and whatnot.
Did I ever tell you I didn’t get my first cell phone until I was 24? I also had a beeper in high school.
So for all my friends and readers who are going back to school, those that are still in school (lucky ducks) and those that are interested in making a difference through Operation Smile, go check out CampusBookRentals.com.
(This is a sponsored post. I want you to know that I would never support any company or item that I wouldn’t use/support myself.)
