Oh, weekends. Why must you go by so fast? My personal favorite day of the week is Friday night. You have the possibility of two days ahead, and isn’t that a wonderful thing? By Saturday night I just start thinking of all the things I have to do to get ready for the week and some of the magic is lost. Apparently I’m a “glass is half empty” kind of girl.
Some random happenings from a totally uneventful two days at home:
I just bought some new lounge pants at Target and loooove them. They are pink and soft and make me feel that wearing sweatpants 24/7 can be cute. I need more colors.
Heading out to Chili’s for a five o’clock family dinner. Yes, we go eat early. We are early bird, retirement hours eating people. That way I don’t have to worry about cranky kids, I can get back into my sweatpants by 7pm and my husband and I can enjoy some 2 for 1 happy hour beers. And dessert. And amazing Southwest egg roll appetizers. The gym be calling me name this Monday, I tell ya.
Did I mention it was 45 degrees that night and it felt like 45 below and I am going to die in Michigan next winter?
Molly wore her Merida princess dress to dinner with dangly clip on earrings and waltzed through the restaurant like a queen inspecting her troops. Diva.
Brady wore his rain boots, as always. Except not when it rained last week. Go figure.
We just refinanced our house and don’t have a mortgage payment this month (!) and I just scored major winter gear for my kids from Lands End. Boots, ski pants and jackets all on clearance.
Now I need a new jacket and boots and such. Anyone know of good deals on winter coats? What do I really need?
If you take kids to Home Depot after dinner on a Saturday night they will run off all their energy in there and nobody will care. True story.
I need a hair cut so bad my hair looks like it is tipped in white, but they are split ends. I need inspiration…cut my hair a bit (I can still wear my weave for length, right?) or leave as is? My real hair is so sad, friends. Sad and thin. Help!
Do yourself a favor, don’t ever buy your kids the CD of songs from “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.” You will sing the songs endlessly in your head while in spinning class. Or everywhere, at anytime, day or night. Argh, me Matey’s.
Oh! Speaking of spinning class, I bought a padded bike seat and can’t wait to try it out. My poor bum does not like those hard seats. I’m like an old woman lowering myself gingerly onto chairs and other hard surfaces.
That concludes my random weekend ramblings for today. Tell me, what were you up to? Do anything fun?
P.S. Linking up with Sami today for Weekend Shenaningan’s!
