Today was one of those days that ends up being full of boring tasks that run end over end until it is over and you sit exhausted and bleary eyed at 5pm. Which in a way sounds ridiculous because of all that went on in my (near) hometown of Boston. I think we all know we are gratetful to be here, to have limbs to walk on and family members and children to hug and love. That being said, writing about matter of fact days is part of my life and despite my complaining I am happy to be here and be whole, you know?
Moving on.
I had my annual physical today and blood tests to check for a reason why my hair falls out in clumps(?) and a check of suspicious spots on my back and a whooping cough vaccine. Juuuust when you think you are done with shots in life at age 32 they rear their ugly head. Don’t you love going to the doctor and waiting in 3 separate waiting rooms with no cell service and only Doc McStuffin’s on the tv? Fun, fun! Apparently I drink way to much coffee (is one hot and two large iced too many?) and my blood pressure is scary low, which isn’t new. Other than that I am healthy as a horse. Hurray.
Let’s talk remixing, shall we?
I got to thinking about how I dress an outfit up or down after reading my Lucky (or was it People StyleWatch?) magazine this weekend. It showed a bunch of celebrities in outfits that they had quick changed and I liked the idea, so presto!, I show you how I remix my boyfriend jeans and a simple top from day to night. I bought this top last week on my doomed trip to Target and I’m pretty happy I did. It is soft and flirty and fun, perfect for dressing up or down. And cheap! I love inexpensive clothes and accessories. I’m a “get more items for less” kind of gal.
Did I mention that I recently purged my closet again? I was inspired by this post on A Beautiful Mess where she ruthlessly purged 50% of her closet. I was determined to go in there and take out anything that I didn’t 100% love. If I had to debate it, I took it out. It had to be a ’10’ to stay and in the end I wasn’t left with much. It is sad in there! I feel really good about it, though. I am left with things that make me happy to wear them and to mix with others, and isn’t that the point of getting dressed?
Tell me, do you love everything in your closet right now?
