Okay Erin, I’ll bite! Since she is one of my favorite bloggers and I just can’t say no to her link ups, here goes some personal questioning and answering!
If you could do one thing differently in life, what would it be?
I think I would have applied myself more in high school and taken things a bit more seriously. I definitely had fun, I just didn’t look to the future that much and push myself. BUT, I look back and think that all my decisions have led me to right where I am and I am happy. So can I really say I regret anything? I have had a lot of moments where I wish I was more thoughtful of others or helped more than I did. As I get older I see how I want to improve myself daily and I work on that a lot.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I want to be doing something I love, professionally. Ideally it would be something I can do at home because I really want to be available for my kids. If I could do something with fashion and writing, or a mix of the two I would be very happy.
What has been the best moment of your life so far?
These change as time passes, and more and more things get pushed to the top of the list. The best? It is hard to pick one! Finding out I was pregnant, feeling a baby move for the first time, holding your newborn child, the first smile, the first laugh, Christmas morning with two excited kids, watching the fireworks with my daughter on her fifth birthday….most of my moments center around my children, and sharing these memories with my husband. They have made my life amazing.
What is your life theme song?
One of my favorite songs that always makes me smile is “Remember When,” by Alan Jackson.
What is the one thing you would like to accomplish before you die?
I honestly feel that having my children is all I truly wanted to accomplish, everything else is just an add on to that. I want to see them grow up and reach all the moments children should reach. Reading about mother’s that die while their children are young breaks my heart and is one of my greatest fears. I just want them to know someday how much I love them. Will they ever know?
What has been the most challenging moment of your life?
Right before my freshman year of high school my then stepfather very suddenly moved out and left our family after a decade. It was devastating to see that impact on my mom and to see how our world was shaken by that. I will say, I am very close to my mom and I think that event brought us closer. I may not like how things changed then (and it wasn’t for the better for a long time), but I think the course of all our lives changed then and hopefully brought us to where we are today.
Summarize yourself in one word.
If you could do anything right now with no consequences, what would it be?
I think I would love to go on an extended vacation, just me and my husband. Maybe to Italy? I would want to go without the guilt and worry over leaving the kids and all that comes with missing them and being away.
What would you like to be known for?
First and foremost, I want to be known as a good mother. I want to raise my children to be successful and happy people who contribute to the world and help others.
After that, I don’t think it really matters what I accomplish material wise as long as my children look back at me and say I did my best.
P.S. Did you see my amazing headband? Dawntelle sent it to me (she is a dear blog friend!) and it is so pretty! The quality is amazing and it is one of the best floral headbands I have seen. Ever. Please check out her shop (and blog!) and tell her I said hello.
On to the announcement! (No I’m not pregnant…)
