Proud to always fly a flag at our home!
First off, am I the worst “style blogger” ever with no specially themed 4th of July outfit? I mean, I’ve been living out of a duffel bag for three weeks. I’ve got nothing. And (and!) I just trashed my favorite Zara ripped boyfriend jeans by dropping a paintbrush on them. Fail.
On tho the Fourth! We are in Traverse City in a rented lake cottage while we wait for our stuff to get here (Monday!) So, I’ll have to just enjoy the day sitting in an Adirondack chair with my friend while our kids frolic in the lake. Someone’s gotta do it:) The fourth of July is also my daddy’s birthday. When I was younger I really thought the world celebrated with fireworks just for him. Since I’m far away from him on his special day I want to say, Happy birthday, Dad. I love you! P.S. Your Teflon pan you want for camp is on its way!
On to other rambling thoughts (which is what a blog is for, amiright?)
I’ve been struggling the past couple of weeks to balance my blogging life and my real life with the move, being in a state of “hurry up and wait” (classic military life right there) as well as having my kids home for the summer. I have less time for everything not related to those above listed items. Including blogging. My reading, commenting, replying to emails and just about everything else I do for this space of mine is slacking, big time. I’m hoping once we unpack and settle in I can get back into my routine and find that sweet spot that gives me plenty of time with my family and leaves some time for blogging. Really though, summer will just always mean a little less time doing what we should and a little more of the fun stuff, right? Like rickety carnival Ferris wheels (don’t ever go on, trust me!), evenings spent catching fireflies and eating s’mores, staying up too late and sleeping in, reading books in a lawn chair by the lake and all the other things that this time of year brings. So bear with me, please! I adore all of you that come read me on a daily basis and your comments and emails mean the world to me.
Hope you all enjoy your holiday, stay safe!
