True story: I haven’t actually lived in a home in the past five years that has a full length mirror in it. I put outfits together and sort of guess whether or not it looks okay based on a feeling (or something?) and also knowing I typically have under five minutes to dress myself.
On that note, I wore the bottom most outfit through 90% of the day yesterday, then changed into the sandals when the boots started to get a little hot in this humid little spell we’re having in Michigan currently (though not Florida hot yet, thankfully!)
Darn it, I lied.
I wore most of this outfit yesterday, until I went to Target to return a shirt and found these shorts that remind me of Baby in Dirty Dancing and HAD to get them. They were on sale, too! So, I had on shorter denim shorts with the boots and then swapped out for these longer versions and felt pretty good about myself until my husband snapped these photos of me and I saw how bad the boots looked with the longer shorts ( I won’t even show you the full frontal, legs cut off to about 5 inches in height look…no way.) It was horrifying, which is probably why my lovely husband gave me the “are you really wearing that?” look. Which incidentally is the same look I give him when he pairs a plaid shirt with his camp shorts.
After the first photo shoot disaster we went out after dinner and I wore my trusty Forever 21 sandals that are the most comfortable ever and felt better about myself and looked a bit better than my initial outfit choice.
The moral of the story? Don’t wear ankle boots with knee length shorts unless you have the legs of a supermodel.
P.S. Linking up with Shanna for Random Wednesday. I simply adore her!
