This summer has been a little weird for me when it comes to blogging. I’m trying to evaluate what really make me happy and what in turn makes YOU happy. I wrote a post once about how I plan and schedule my posts each week, but find that schedule is a bit out the window while my kids are home and we transition to our new home here in Michigan. I have a lot less time to write and develop posts that come from my heart. I think that is my favorite part of blogging is being able to write and connect to others. I love creating outfits and sharing them (though lets be honest, that’s a little selfish on my part as I just plain like to dress up!) I love sharing bits and pieces from my life, whether it be about my home or being a mom or anything that begs for me to sit down and bare my soul.
I like to analyze my favorite blogs and figure out what makes them special. I love Nat the Fat Rat for her writing, Living in Yellow for her quirkiness and fun, Casey Leigh for her heart, Kendi Everyday for her style and wit, Cara Loren for her glamour and daily style, and of course The Daybook for…everything. I could go on and on about my favorites that live in my bookmark bar (Gal Meets Glam, Cupcakes and Cashmere…) I am inspired daily in every aspect of my life by these ladies and sharing the internet with them is inspiring.
I guess I’m saying that I may be posting a little less as I gain my footing here in our new surroundings. I don’t want to create filler posts because I have to, I want to post things that come to me and make me happy. I keep thinking that if I have a hard time writing it, then why do you want to read it? I love using this space as my online diary of sorts and feel that should be a bit more organic and less forced, I guess. I’m sure I’ll find my way soon, I have some big plans for the up coming months (my birthday and a giveaway!) as well as some collaborations that make me swoon. I want to make this space fun with some real life and a lot personal style thrown in. Bear with me?
Tell me, what is your favorite blog to read and why? What keeps you coming back?
