One day old. He still sleeps with this blanket from the hospital.
This belly! This boy!
He crushes my heart into little pieces.
I’m sitting here in my darkened living room, in a state far away from where I sat four years ago. I was in early labor, waiting it out at home and timing contractions. It was August in Florida and felt like I was living on the sun and had a 17 month old asleep in her crib the next room over. I knew he was coming. My son. I knew in my mind that he was coming, but I didn’t know what it would mean for me or our family.
I didn’t know that my heart would literally expand a thousand times over. I didn’t know I could love another baby as much as I loved my daughter. How was it possible? I didn’t know the joy of having a little boy who would sit on my lap and refuse to be put down, or only say “mama” until he was two. This little boy, who was born and settled into my arms and felt so right. Like he was meant for me and I for him. He’s my child that loves to be loved on, and cuddled, and babied. I’m thrilled to teach this little boy how to be a gentlemen, to be the type of man his daddy is. I want him to grow up and marry someone who will adore him half as much as I do. Is that possible? This boy has captured my heart and grown it to a size as large as the Grinch’s heart in “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.”
These babies of mine…I tell you. They have defined me and created me and made me into everything I ever wanted to be. If I am nothing else in life, never accomplish anything else, I will die happy being called, “mom.”
My baby boy is four today, as of 4:18pm. There are two dates (okay, maybe three) in my life that have forever changed me, and for the better. The birth of my babies. If you need me today, I’ll be eating ice cream cake and squeezing my little boy a little too tight, and wondering where on earth the time has gone. Four years? Really?
All I know is this.
I’ll love him forever, I’ll like him for always, as long as I’m living my baby he’ll be.

On to What She Wears! First of all, I had a blast looking through the links and seeing how you all styled your white tee’s. I swear, I am constantly inspired by you guys, it makes me envious of your creativity:) My favorite was Allexis (see above!) I loved how she styled her tee with booties and a sassy little top know. Isn’t she the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? Love. Please visit her BLOG and say hello, okay?
Next months theme will be….military inspired! Break out your military look (camo, army green, seriously, ANYTHING) and come link up the first Tuesday in September with Brandi, Dawnelle, Kayleigh, Rebecca and I. The link up will be open for a week and then we will each pick our faves and feature it the following week.
