Reading Have I mentioned that I re read books a lot? I have some favorites that I revisit from time to time and have quite an extensive library in my home (which are super fun to move, by the way.) Nora Roberts has some great trilogies that I adore. Love this Wedding series and this Inn of Boonsboro series (among about 10 others.) I really connect with her characters and find like it is visiting with old friends when I read them all again. She has a new trilogy coming out next month that I can’t wait to read. I’m also reading this book on sibling rivalry and this book about talking to children so they listen better.
Watching I’m kind of turning out to be a non TV watcher lately. I don’t love the Housewives anymore because the drama turns me off and I don’t do the Bachelor or the Bachelorette either. I have the TV on for background noise a lot (tuned to QVC) and tape a couple of things, but I really don’t have anything I die over lately. I DO have a prediction as to who the mother is on How I Met Your Mother, though! (Robin’s sister.) Right? Do I get a prize if I’m right? Oh wait, I also love watching Girls on HBO and can admit to an episode
or more of Sister Wives.
Eating I’ve been working on shedding a little weight that I put on this summer shoving S’mores and chocolate ice cream down my gullet on a regular basis, so food is not as fun for me at the moment. (Boooooo.) One thing I’ve been doing that has worked surprisingly well for me is drinking two protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and then having a
sensible huge dinner. I find that I like the ease of the shakes and I’m a routine girl. If you tell me what do do on a daily basis that involves little thought I will do it. The shakes are working (for now) and are a good jump start for me to change my eating habits and portion sizes. I DID make an amazing homemade tomato soup with pesto, mozzarella and tomato sandwiches for dinner last night. I grill those babies up on my Foreman and they are heaven in a sandwich. Yum.
Planning I’m thrilled to be going to Lucky FABB in October and my mind is in overdrive over what on earth to wear. I’m loving plaid right now and this this look could be cute. Thoughts?
Dreaming I can’t wait to see the look on my kids’ faces when they see snow for the first time.
Wearing Have you discovered Kiki la Rue yet? I bought this maxi dress in black last week and it literally feels like the softest nightgown ever. I need more.
Doing I am enjoying my free time on Tuesday and Thursday when my kids are both in school and being able to cross items off my to do list. Doing more tutorial videos and having the time an peace to really write is a joy.
Enjoying I’m a loving experiencing my first Fall since 2001. Crisp air, leaves turning crimson, orange and gold and a reason to sit in front of a fire in sweatpants.
Hating Is it bad that I feel like a rebel for even writing that word down? My kids are not allowed to say it and if I occasionally do they let me know how bad it is. Love them. Anyway, my son has been sick this weekend and I hate seeing him cry because he can’t verbalize what hurts. It’s been a watch movies all day long and cuddle together kind of weekend over here.
Loving I’m not sure if you know this, but Philip Lim has a collection at Target right now (can you hear the sarcasm?) I realize every person on EARTH has the black tote I’m holding above and I feel a little weird showing off something so popular, but it is that good. It is the perfect tote and looks so perfect with everything. LOVE this one, too. There is no way I can put it away till the popularity dies down. I also purchased a tank in two colors that is a great tunic length and is a great basic.
Smelling Pumpkin candles from Walmart that make my home smell like Fall paradise.
Wishing I really, really, really want a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas.
Missing Moving away from my mom has been an adjustment for me. I miss the time we had to really connect on a daily basis and figuring out what our new normal will be. I guess it just takes time.
Buying I finally broke my iPhone virginity on Friday and got the new one (er, the 5c.) I adore it already and can’t put it down. I’ve been obsessed with finding cute covers for it and bought this one from Anthropologie online. I want this one, too. You can never have too many cases….right?
Learning I am working on being a better mother and standing up for myself more and my convictions. I am no longer willing to compromise on what I know is right or let others make me feel bad about it. I have a purge my little heart out post coming out this week on this subject. It’s been on my heart and I need to let it out. .
Enjoying It has been a lot of fun moving to a completely different state and climate and I am enjoying every second of it. Our house, the community, our friends, and everything here makes me smile. Michigan feels like home.
