Rachel Zoe vest, QVC; J Crew outlet jacket (splurge, save); Asos dress (worn as top); LC by Lauren Conrad pants (similar); Converse sneakers; Target hat.
I’ve been sort of obsessed lately with trying to make all my clothes work in my closet without buying a lot of new stuff on a daily basis. I’ve had these faux leather pants for quite awhile and love dressing them up for nights out, but really wanted to get some daily use out of them. Pairing them with my Converse and a denim jacket seemed sort of fun and casual to me, and since it is getting colder and colder out I layered a vest on top. It sort of makes the jacket look like a one piece, right? I’d also like this denim jacket/vest with a dressier look as well. Dressing down fancier looks is a fun way to not seem so serious and “put together.” I like to have one thing “off” about a look. Undone hair, chipped nails, casual shoes with a dressier look, anything to not be too matchy matchy, you know?
On another note, I’m leaving for New York for the Lucky blogger conference this Wednesday (!) and I swear, it takes more work to leave for four days than it does to stay. I have lists! So may lists and things to do before I take off (on my first trip solo in two years, mind you.) It’s hard for me to leave my kids. I love bringing them to school and hearing about their day and just being a part of their everyday lives. Being away is just plain weird to me and even though I know this trip is going to be amazing, I just worry about them and will miss them like crazy. I’m missing Trunk or Treat, field trips, and maybe even the first snowfall? It’s a little bittersweet, but my husband is staying home from work and gets to be Mr. Mom for a bit, it’s always fun to see him be me. And I may even have a little evil laugh thinking of him getting Miss Sassy Pants ready for school in the mornings and taming her curly hair:)
Tell me, are you a list person like me when you go somewhere, or do you fly by the seat of your pants?
P.S. I’m flying Delta and since they charge for checked bags now (what the…) I am attempting to fly with only a carry on and about a zillion outfits. Wish me luck!
