Asos coat (bought on sale on Black Friday, no longer available, but here’s something similar!) and hat; Logo tunic; LC for Lauren Conrad pants, old (similar); Converse shoes; wearing Teddy color balm in Berry Bombshell.
Please excuse the foot of snow we got this weekend. This girl did not take outfit photos and stayed home instead. I’m not sorry. I’m also learning the invaluable lesson that snow days as an adult are not as fun as when we were kids. I think I came up with 3,478 crafty and fun things to do yesterday that didn’t involve 16 hours of television (though honestly, we did watch a bunch) and I am exhausted just thinking about it.
P.S. I’m now an expert snowman builder, deck shoveler, sugar cookie icer and play dough smooth ball maker. Yes I want a pat on the back! And no, I didn’t go mostly stir crazy stuck at home all day. Grrrr.
On that note, here’s what I didn’t do lately. (A play on the to do list, perhaps?)
I didn’t wear socks, and paid for it with wet feet.
I didn’t eat a sugar cookie today. (Yet.)
I didn’t remember my son was going on a field trip today. Surprise!
I didn’t wear real pants at all yesterday. Yoga pants, shower and then into sweats for the win!
I didn’t mail out my Christmas cards till today, better late than never?
I didn’t tell the kids I packed them a cookie in their lunch boxes. They’re going to love it.
I didn’t feel weird walking into school to drop my kids off in faux leather pants. It makes up for the sweats in the car rider line days, right?
I didn’t forget to ask my husband to take outfit photos on the way to the grocery store. One less tripod and timer shot for me. Score.
I didn’t buy the Sam Edelman Petty boots I’ve been drooling over because I don’t know what color to get. Basic or colorful?
I didn’t stop myself at two cups of coffee. I had four. Holy shakes.
I didn’t make my bed until three pm. (Which is a big step for this chronic bed maker and organizer.)
I didn’t purge my daughter’s room, even though it resembles a hoarder’s paradise. I’m working on letting her have her own space and not passing on my weird tendencies.
I didn’t clean out the nine (NINE!) lipsticks that are in my bag right now.
I didn’t throw my new lip crayons in a snowbank and photograph them in my furry slippers. Oh wait, I did;)
These Teddy lip crayons are amazing. They look like one of those chubby, toddler crayons we all used a hundred years ago in Kindergarten and glide right on, I don’t even use a mirror to apply (which is a bonus, right?!) I tried two colors, the brighter burgundy Berry Bombshell (worn above) and the paler pink Pink Slip. The light pink was the perfect, everyday lip color. Soft and pretty and it looks like your lips, but better. Great for the days when lipstick is just too much to think about. The Berry Bombshell was similar to my Bare Minerals lipstick in color and I would even use it as a lipliner or stain underneath. It does work alone and was perfect for when you want to quickly apply a color in a fool proof way. Teddy Cosmetics also uses natural ingredients in their color balms, something which has been on my mind lately. I’ve been working on really paying attention to what is in the makeup, lotions, etc that I use on myself and my children.
On to the giveaway! One lucky reader will win a set of all FOUR color balms that Teddy Cosmetics offers, a $64 value! The giveaway will run for a week, I’ll pick a winner on Christmas Day (Merry Christmas to YOU!) Good luck!
