Can I start by saying that it was a balmy 30 degrees during this photo shoot and it was sort of humorous how “warm” it felt compared to the previous week. Despite the falling snow I was fairly comfortable. Secondly, my husband did not like this look. Apparently men don’t like harem pants? Shocker. Half the fun in life is getting dressed and shocking him a bit, it brings us both a laugh and then we go and wrangle the kids that are fighting in the car over breath mints.
On to the link up! I loved this month’s theme of pop of color, and thought it would be so simple. Except I’m currently craving all tone on tone looks and basic blacks and grey. It just doesn’t feel okay to throw on a bright color for some reason. My Pinterest style board agrees with me, too.
I’ve been on a mission lately to really use what is in my closet and to dress more in the moment. I pulled these pants out of the back of my closet and thought, “hey, why not wear them with harem pants and boots?” While I think in retrospect this outfit would have looked better with a skinnier patterned pant, I felt fun and different, a plus in my book most days. I enjoy wearing something a little more out of the box and unexpected. Sometimes this bombs horribly, and sometimes it works quite well and I am okay with both options;) Dressing up should be fun and free of thoughts about what others think, don’t you agree?
Tell me (and show me by linking up!), how do you wear color this time of year?
P.S. When linking up, please leave a link back to either my post or one of my co hosts, Dawnelle, Rebecca, Brandi and Jalynn!
