Target sweater, dress (on clearance!) and boots (similar); No Nonsense tights (bought at Walmart); Lemons and Lace headband; Eclectic Joy scarf (similar.)
It dawned on me the other day, when I was hopping over snow banks in ankle boots and freezing my fingertips off while operating a remote for my camera, that I should really put a jacket on and call it a day during particularly freezing days. Which I’ve said before, but apparently haven’t learned. I mean, I had gotten dressed on a day when I didn’t really need to and driven to my favorite place for photos (which had been plowed in), and I wasn’t going to waste putting on tights and not document it. Sort of like the whole thought behind, “if I wear a cute outfit and no one sees it, can I repeat it until someone does?” Needless to say, after all this silliness (where else is one required to pose jacketless in the snow?), I arrived home to stare at said photos in somewhat horror.
Which brings me to my third installment of an unintentional blog series called: I hate this outfit. Let’s catalogue why, shall we?
1) I like this look in theory, and perhaps another day it might look better, but with my hair up and undone I just don’t love the overall look. Next time I would wear my hair down and probably throw on a colorful hat to add a little color to my
vampire pale face that not even lipstick can save. Also, the headband looks weird here, right?
2) I bought this dress a couple of weeks ago and love it, it is made of sweatshirt material and is so comfortable, yet I have been unable to style it in a way that feels like me. I did feel good in this when I put it on. It was drapey and cozy with the sweater, but the gray and cream, with the black and white scarf aren’t doing me any favors in the complexion department (i.e. I look like death.) Perhaps a scarf that had a touch of blue in it would have been a better choice?
3) Full on, the tights and ankle boots were pretty cute (?), but I couldn’t get a good shot of it due to my inability to stand knee deep in snow. I think a deep purple tight with green Hunter’s would look better in this instance. Then I could wear a brighter scarf with my hair down and fix what looks wrong. Hopefully;)
Tell me, what do you think is off about this look?
Now that we’ve discussed the awfulness of my failed look, let’s do something fun.
