℅ Gentle Fawn Passage pant and Impression sweater; Target shoes; ℅ Irresistible Me extensions (post to come!)
The school year started with a bang this year, with BOTH of my kids going full time (yikes!), and me working part time as a sub. I haven’t worked outside of the home in seven years, so I was definitely nervous to get back into it again and juggle working and mom life. Being a mama is my first priority, always. Anything that interferes with that is not worthy of my time, so working at the same school that my kids go to is a win/win for my family. I helped out in a classroom three days last week as an aide to a special needs student and had a blast. I forgot how much I missed being in the classroom and how being around kids in a learning environment. Eventually I’ll get back to full time teaching, but for now I’m enjoying picking and choosing the days I work, and getting my feet wet one day at a time at school.
With all that said, getting to dress up for work again has been so much fun! I’ve been drawn to pants, slouchy tops and button downs, with these awesome studded flats I got during the Nordstrom anni sale (need the nude version, STAT) getting endless wear time. Last week I showed a gorgeous maxi dress from Gentle Fawn that I have worn on repeat, and this week I wanted to share a look that could be worn casually OR dressy. These Passage pants are like pajama pants, but better. I would wear a half tucked chambray and ankle boots with them, or a simple tee and sandals. And this sweater! I wore it for three days straight, you guys. It has an amazing peekaboo sleeve effect, has the perfect amount of fit versus slouch, and the sweater itself has flecks of off white threaded through to break up the black. I wore it Friday when we had friends over for a bonfire, Saturday with jeans and Nike’s for soccer games, and Sunday for a day running errands with my kids. I literally can’t get enough.
