It wasn’t until I started working again this past couple of months that I’ve discovered I needed to wear a watch again. You see, in my daily life when I’m a stay at home mom running errands and carpooling kids to soccer, I don’t really need a watch. I always have my phone on me and I am happy to use that for time checks. Back when I was working full time I wore a watch every single day. It was necessary! I needed to know when to bring the kids in from recess and whether or not lunch or art was over, and if we were on time for our daily schedule. (Plus I only had a bright pink flip phone then, does that age me much? Ha.)
I am a fan of watches, though! I like a couple of options in my jewelry box that will match my different moods. I have a dressy version that looks really great with a black shift dress and simple heels, a rose gold version with some bling that I love for work (but is a little heavy and annoys me at times), a vintage Gucci one my grandmother left me when she passed, and my newest love, this all wood watch from Jord.
A WOOD WATCH, you ask? I KNOW, it sounds weird. I wasn’t sure I would like it, to be honest. I’m not really a casual watch kind of girl, and wearing something made from wood seemed a little…off maybe? I judged this watch at first. I did! And then I went to the Jord website and looked around and I loved the minimalist look of this one, and how simple and streamlined it looked. I tend to be a simple watch person, with a bolder face being my favorite, so this watch fit me to a “T.”
Here are my thoughts on Jord wood watches:
1) They are incredibly lightweight. I could barely feel this watch while wearing it, and I like that. Heavy things on my wrist really annoy me, which is why I tend not to wear them for long. It also had a really secure two way clasp, and it felt secure on, yet non existent. Does that make sense?
2) There are some incredibly cool watches for men that I think fit the lifestyle of so many of the men in my life. This ebony and copper one is AMAZING.
3) For my sporty watch lady friends, this black faced watch looks really fun and would match an active life style.
4) Finally, I measured my wrist and sent in the measurements, so my watch fits me perfectly right out of the box. This help stop the (super annoying) process of bringing your watch to get sized at the jewelry store and spending more money just to make it fit right. Ugh. That’s always $15 you never see again, am I right?
Tell me, are you a watch person? What do you like in a watch?
