Abercrombie dress (true to size, wearing a small); Old Navy sandals.
I’ve previously written about creating a wearable wardrobe here, and then I revealed one of my outfit “uniforms” for the summer. So today I wanted to talk about my second uniform, a dress! While I love having a lot of really fun clothes, in my daily life I want easy, simple outfits to wear. I tend to find a style, or uniform, and then I grab several options within that to simplify my life.
See my first outfit formula HERE.
Since I live in the South, the summer here is SUPER hot and humid, so the less I can wear the better. Ha. A simple dress is the best compromise. It is one piece, so I don’t have to think about what matches what, I can wear them really casual (with sandals and a tote) or I can dress it up (wedges, a cute clutch, statement earrings, etc.)
I find that Abercrombie is a go to for most of my dresses. I almost always wait till they have 40% off sales (which they do often), and I stock up. I try to stick within my typical color palette, and I read a lot of reviews. I have the cutout dress above, this white eyelet dress, this blush colored swing dress, and this super cute floral maxi dress.
Target is awesome, too. I love this polka dot cutout dress, and I recently bought this rainbow stripe one (DYING.)
Urban Outfitter’s has a ton of cute dresses, including one of my all time faves from last year (it comes in eyelet this year.) I am also eying this wrap dress in white this year.
I have had luck at Old Navy (though their fit is hit or miss, boo!), and I LOVE Free People for special pieces. (Loving this flowy maxi dress, how pretty is this crochet midi dress, and I’ve seen this dress on a bunch of bloggers and I may pull the trigger on it! What color should I get?
Tell me, what “uniform” do you tend to wear a lot? How could you incorporate simple looks into your closet to make getting dressed easier?
