My May Trunk Club came in (after a long hiatus!), and I am so excited to show you what was in it, what I thought, and what I kept!
A quick update on what Trunk Club is for those that are new….
Trunk Club is a subscription styling service via Nordstrom where you sign up and tell a stylist online exactly what you are looking for (my stylist is awesome!), and they send you a box of things to try at home. Your stylist will look at your Pinterest boards to get an idea of what you enjoy, as well as ask you many, many questions about what you are looking for.
Tip: The key to getting a great Trunk is to be very specific about your needs.
For $25 the stylist adds things to your box, you approve them before they ship (she then takes stuff out and adds more if you want!), and ships it to you. The $25 goes towards anything you buy in the box. If you have a Nordstrom card (I do not), this fee is waived.
Also, you can sign up for Trunk Club (and my specific stylist!) HERE. She’s awesome.
Okay, let’s do this!
The first thing I was so exciyed to try on was this dress! I had actually tried on the white and hot pink version in store a month or so ago, and I was not disapointed by the striped one. This dress is a DREAM, you guys. I felt like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday when wearing it, yet it is simple enough to wear casually. You can also wear it without the straps, but I preferred it with them on. Also, it has pockets!
And these shoes! They are butter soft and beautiful quality if you are in the market for a great summer shoe that is a bit dressier, yet looks great semi-casually as well. I almost swooned when I took them out of the box, they are that good!
Sizing details: I am wearing a size small in the dress and it was true to size. Sometimes I am an XS in Free People, the small fit me well. The shoes were also TTS, I got the size 8 and they fit perfectly.
I so wanted to love this jumpsuit as it was the most beautiful burnt orange color in person, and the details were beautiful. BUT, it fit really weird and puffed out in the front and the back, and was pretty loose on the top. I don’t think a smaller size would have helped. The magical shoes sure look nice though, yes?!
Sizing details: This jumpsuit was a size medium, I am unsure if a smaller size would have solved the fit issues.
This was a really pretty bodysuit that I think would be perfect for a date night or a fun summer concert! I loved the color and the fit, though the bodysuit had a thong instead of a full bottom and that felt awkward to me. Maybe it is meant to be worn without underwear? *shrugs shoulders
You would need to wear either a plunge strapless bra or sticky boobs as this was lower cut in the front and would look best without a traditional bra.
These jeans were so soft and luxurious, and definitely premium. Something I LOVE that my stylist does is she sends me sale versions of nicer denim, which helps me purchase if I really fall in love. There is nothing worse than trying on beautiful things that aren’t in your budget, am I right? I think these white jeans would be great for a casual work or dressier environment as they have no rips and fit really well.
Also, case in point that the shoes look good with everything! Someone please buy these delicious things and wear them a million ways!
Sizing details: The bodysuit was a size small and fit TTS. The jeans were a size 28 and fit wonderfully, size up one if you are between sizes (I can wear a 4 or a 6 and these are a 6!)
This jacket also came in my Trunk and it was so soft and buttery. I just bought a denim jacket a couple of weeks ago so I didn’t need this one, but this is a GREAT option if you are looking for a fitted denim jacket that will last you for years. I loved the color and the feel of it on. It was so soft!
Sizing details: This jacket was a size small and fit nicely, but fitted. It did pull across my shoulder blades when I moved my arms, but not uncomfortably. You might want to size up 1 size if you want more give.
I loved, loved, LOVED this band tee and kept it! It was so soft and it felt like a favorite tee that I had had forever. I liked how it was purposefully made to look old, with fraying around the collar and sleeves and some small holes. I’ve already worn it twice since it arrived in my Trunk;)
Sizing details: I am wearing the size small and it fits perfectly, not too tight and not too loose!
I tossed the jacket on over it and added this Playa Macrame clutch and thought this would be a cute look for a date night or a business casual work event!
This was the other bodyuit that came in my Trunk, and while I loved the soft fabric and color, it was too revealing for my daily life. I think someone with a smaller bust would look amazing in it, though! It also had that thong bottom that I’m not in love with. This would be a KILLER date night top if you are smaller chested and want to feel sexy! Or flaunt that bigger chest and get it, girl…;)
Okay, we need to talk about these jeans. You guys! I was NOT in the market for a new pair of jeans. And then I slipped these on and felt like a million dollars in them! They fit like butter yet feel like leggings, and just suck you in in all the right places. They. Are. Glorious. I was still going to pass until I saw my stylist had included these jeans, and they were on sale. So I got them! These are an amazing basic that you can wear over and over again and never get tired of. I love them!
Sizing details: The bodysuit was a size small and fit TTS, it was just a little revealing in the front! The jeans are a size 28 and fit beautifully. I can wear a size 4 or 6 in this brand, but the 6 (size 28) felt SO GOOD. I kept these!
That’s it! If you would like to try out Trunk Club, you can use my stylist by signing up HERE. I love Mariah and I think she totally “gets me.” You should give her a shot!
