My October Trunk Club came and I am so excited to show you what was in it, what I thought, and don’t forget to get my free guide on how YOU can make each of your trunks amazing!
A quick update on what Trunk Club is for those that are new….
Trunk Club is a subscription styling service via Nordstrom where you sign up and tell a stylist online exactly what you are looking for (my stylist is awesome!), and they send you a box of things to try at home. Your stylist will look at your Pinterest boards to get an idea of what you enjoy, as well as ask you many, many questions about what you are looking for. The key is to be very specific about your needs. For $25 the stylist adds things to your box, you approve them before they ship (she then takes stuff out and adds more), and ships it to you. The $25 goes towards anything you buy in the box. If you have a Nordstrom card (I do not), this fee is waived.
Also, you can sign up for Trunk Club (and my specific stylist!) HERE.
Okay, let’s do this!
This whole outfit is right up my alley! I love having a closet full of ‘mostly’ neutral pieces that I can mix and match, and I can envision al of these pieces fitting right in. (Spoiler: I kept the skirt!) The tee had these really cute flutter sleeves that I thought would look awesome with jeans and cutoff shorts! It’s definitely an elevated basic. And the accessories…the sandals were beautiful quality. So soft! They ran a half size small, I am wearing the 8 and I would have need to get an 8.5 And if you have read any fashion blog in the past 3 years you have seen this bag. It is great for pics and special occasions, but obviously not practical in any way lol. My stylist sent me an on sale one, which I appreciate! I just didn’t envison it working in my closet long term.
I told my stylist that I loved graphic tees, so she sent me this! It had a cropped, boxy fit, and I loved that it was white, as most of what I own is black. I loved it half tucked into this skirt, and it would look awesome styled even more casually with high waisted shorts and flip flops. The hat was great quality and ran big, but would have worked for a more Fall look (it felt like wool? Felt?) It was a great color!
This is fun! I’ve actually owned this Free People top for 4+ years and I wanted to show that you can wear things from your Trunk with the pieces you own (a great indicator of whether or not you should buy a piece or not!) I linked a similar top that I got in my Trunk last month for you that I loved as well. (And wish I had kept.) These heels that came in my Trunk were GORGEOUS! Butter soft and not too high. The heel had a really fun wood look to them.
Another fun skirt to try! I loved the color and the interesting tie waist (sort of like the shorts I kept from my Trunk last month!), but it felt a little short when I moved around. I tried it first with the graphic tee you see, but liked it better more dressed up. (See below!)
I loved it dressed up like this! I used a top I already own, but you could sub in any tighter fitting top, which works better with the paper bag waist. I would definitely feel cute and casual-ish dressed like this for dinner in Hawaii.
This really pretty red bodysuit was a fun addition to my Trunk! I loved the color, and how it looked tucked into my fave high waisted jeans. I personally am not a fan of the thong style of bodysuits (pretttttty uncomfortable…) and decided I wouldn’t wear this much in my real life. BUT…I loved the cap sleeves, thicker material, and the fact that you can wear a real bra with it.
This “dress” was actually really funny. It may even be a coverup?! No one knows! The entire back and sides are gone, and it is transparent, so A LOT shows (I threw on some sticky boobs for common decency….;) I really loved the color and the idea of it, I am just not sure how someone in real life could wear it beyond over a bathing suit? I also got another dress in my Trunk that I couldn’t even show you because it was sheer and covered NOTHING lol. Free People ca be hit or miss like that, it is either really good or really bad.
I had asked my stylist for pretty dress options for nights in Hawaai, and after striking out with the first two, I tried this one on. It was so pretty in person, with gorgeous details, and I loved how it felt on. I felt it was a bit too revealing for me (the top felt like lingerie,) but I think it would be perfect for someone with a smaller chest. The top was delicate though, so you’d have to be careful not to rip it.
Okay, so I ended up keeping this skirt! I styled it with a tee, bag, and shoes I own and loved how I could wear it so many ways, plus dress it up or down. Madewell does such a great job with their basics, and this is another piece from them that I am happy to add to my closet.
