Welcome to November! I love a fresh new month and I especially love a month I can start my holiday decorating. We are putting out our holiday decor early again this year so we can enjoy it. I love decorating for the holidays, and with Thanksgiving so late (plus we will be away that week!), I want to have our tree(s) up for awhile so we can just enjoy it. Life is too short to live by “rules” of when we can and cannot decorate! (My daughter disagrees, lol.)
I wanted to chat this week about how I use UNIFORMS to get dressed each season. Each season I pick a couple of different go-to outfits that I can then wear over and over again with different pieces. These are my most comfortable and “me” outfits, and make me feel my personal best.

I’ve been doing this a couple of years now so my uniforms honestly stay pretty similar each year. I also stick to a color palette so that all of my clothes can be mixed and matched into different outfits! In the Fall/Winter my color palette is black, gray, cream, mustard, and mauve, with some muted patterns like leopard or camo. 99% of the clothes I buy are one of these colors and it makes it so easy to mix all my clothes together into different outfits.
I tend to have more uniforms in the Fall/Winter than in the Summer, only because it is more fun to dress in the colder weather! In the Summer I only have two uniforms, and right now I wear about 4.
***Note: It takes a ot of time and effort to create shopping links and guides for you (which I love doing!) I only get a commision if you buy online and not on phone apps (Target online versus the Target app…) It would mean the world to me if you DO want to buy something that I recommned, that you buy online and ship to the store or your home. (This is mainly for Target!) Thank you!
Here are the uniforms I wear for Fall/Winter:
Graphic sweatshirt + Jeans
This is new this year! I am just obsessed with the ease of a cute, graphic sweatshirt worn with denim and a neutral shoe or sneaker. Target is KILLING it with graphic sweatshirts and most are under $25. I size up 1-2 sizes so that they are loose.
Long tunic top/sweater + Leggings/Skinny Jeans
This has been one of my favorites for years! I love a longer tunic top or sweater over leggings or skinny jeans.
Spanx faux leather leggings (worth every penny)
Thermal top + Jeans
I love thermal tops! I have a couple from Free People that have lasted me for YEARS. My long ones I wear with leggings and a cardigan, and my shorter ones I wear with ripped denim.
Sweater + Jeans
Lastly! I love a cozy, slouchy sweater with jeans! This can also work with the formula above if they are long enough for leggings, but my shorter sweaters tend to look better with jeans. I love sweaters that are cozy, and this new one from Target is the softest! I also love it in this mustard color.
Here are a couple more sweaters I ordered this past weekend! (I size up 1-2 sizes in sweaters for a looser fit!)
Do you have a fave uniform you like to wear over and over again?
