When I look at what I own in my closet I would say it is 99% basics in neutral colors. I just love that it can all mix and match with little to no thought. I use outfit formula’s to make getting dressed really easy, and tend to buy things within a certain color palette. That way, on any given day, I can grab afew items from my closet and they all go together.
The other day I was working from home and had on a basic thermal + my black skinny jeans, with slippers. I had soccer practice for my youngest later and decided to fiddle around with a few ways to jazz up these basics on my stories, and figured it deserved a blog post as well. Do you follow me on Insta? I’m wearing a pair of button up Madewell skinnies I got last year, but need to size up! I also have these mom jeans that have a bit more wiggle room in them. Both of these have no rips and and be worn in a very casual work environment. I also have these Madewell skinny jeans (with rips) that I adore. I’ve owned this Free People thermal for a couple of years ago and this exact style isn’t available right now, but any tunic length gray top works. I like this one!
And! My glasses are prescription and are these ones!

Okay so this might be my favorite;) I love how lightwash denim and gray look together, and comfortable sneakers are a bonus. I’ve actualy had every piece of this outfit for years and I just rewear it as soon as the weather allows. I either tie the jacket around my waist (see first pic in post) or I wear it gets chilly. The weather where I live always starts and ends pretty cold, but warms up nice in the daytime. So layers are key!

When in doubt, throw a mustard colored chunky cardigan on it, am I right?! I love a oversized Grandpa cardigan so much, and in this color (love it in burgundy, too!), it just pops. This is a color I buy and wear a lot and looks so good with white, black and gray. I also have an addiction to tan colored shoes so don’t judge, k?

I felt like this was a dressier addition to the lineup, and could work in a casual work environment. I bought these fur lined mules last year and they are legit like wearing slippers, except they are shoes. They are definitely extra and A LOT but I love them and they are available this year as well. And this J Crew coatigan/cardigan/sweater/jacket thing is so good, you guys. I bought it on sale and it makes even the most casual of outfits better. (See more outfits with it HERE.) I just half tucked my top in and added a necklace and BOOM, a new outfit.
