It took moving away from where I grew up to appreciate it. To see how changing seasons was something I took for granted, because I always had it. We (my husband and I) moved right after I graduated college to warmer climates, and lived without the drastic changing of seasons for 11 years. When we moved to Michigan the first time it felt like a dream, to watch the leaves change and feel the air turn crisp. It was everything I remembered and more. We had that for four years and then went South again for three. There are many thing to appreciate about warmer climates, but I love change. Fall and Spring have my heart, change and rebirth. Now we live in Michigan again, and my appreciation and gratefullness in getting to experience the seasons of my youth is not somethig I take for granted. The crisp air, the gorgeous, ombre colored trees, apple orchards and hay wagons and pumpkin patches. This, this is what I have been waiting for, and it is everything I remembered.
