It’s a twofer this week! My kids were in preschool and I locked the cat out of the room, so the videos are interruption free. Yay! Also, really with the freeze frame face shots? Why, I ask you? Whyyyyy?
Now on to the details!
My recommendation for both up do’s is to have dirty hair. These are both go to looks for me on day four or five (I wash my hair maybe twice a week) and I find they hold better that way. I was on day two for these videos and you can tell by the little fuzzies in my hairline. Dirtier hair is a bit smoother and holds better!
Also, I like to place the initial ponytail higher up on my head than I showed, maybe about four inches from your hairline? This looks better from the front and a bit more fashion forward in my opinion. You can do the messy topknot without a ponytail extension, my hair is just a bit thinner and the added hair adds fullness that I like.
Another thing you can do after is to take your brush and gently pull the little baby hairs out around your face near your hairline. This makes it less perfect and more effortless.
You can also see my sock bun tutorial here! I love my sock bun and had to buy my daughter one because she always wanted to wear mine. Daughters!
I love having looks that I can do really quickly and have me out of the house with minimal effort. I don’t have a lot of time to fuss and I do like to look put together when out and about. I mean, if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy, am I right?
Tell me, what is your favorite quick up do? Any requests for more tutorials?
