One of the most fun things about my birthday is that I can pick out something fairly extravagant for myself. I think I have more fun just looking around and browsing about the possibilities, you know? I mean, the choices! I chose to get a Cambridge Satchel, which I sort of drool over on my Pinterest boards and have wanted for quite a bit. I originally ordered it from J Crew, but it arrived with a small scratch on the top. They were nice enough to refund me immediately (and pay for return shipping, go J Crew!) and I went straight to the source and bought one, complete with monogram. I adore it. It is shocking, bright pink and reminds me of Jackie Kennedy in the 1960’s (circa, her trip to India and her pink lipstick and dresses. Swoon!)
Ruby Cottage eReader cover; Pink Lemonade Handmade pink fringe necklace
Etsy sort of rocks my world. I go through phases where I browse for hours at night and keep getting lost in the most amazing little shops. I’m currently obsessing over the pale pink version of my fringe necklace that I already own in grey (apparently I’m loving pink right now?) I also love this eReader cover that must be mine. I mean, chevron and reading? It’s like a combination of all of my favorite things in life.
This weekend we went to the Sleeping Bear Dunes and hiked up to the top of this sand dune mountain (ouch), and from there we saw the most gorgeous view I have ever seen in my life. Ever. Miles and miles of nothing but the biggest lake and blue, blue sky. I really wish I could give this place justice with words, but I can’t.
Lastly, I need to give a shout out to this little place in Traverse City with nothing but amazing, gourmet food trucks all lined up waiting for me to arrive. I had pulled pork taco’s with something green and yummy on top and a pomegranate lemonade. YUM.
Tell me, what are you obsessing over? How was your weekend? I turned 33 on Sunday (and got CARDED Saturday night, holla!) and ate too much cake and celebrated with my babies and my mama. Life is good.
