Oftentimes this outfit you see above is my reality. I love dressing up and having fun with my clothes, but sometimes you just need an all neutral look to get out the door quick. I’ve also been re-falling in love with this cross body bag I bought last Fall at Target, too. I can’t be bothered most of the time to carry a larger bag as it just feels like too much when I already have so many layers on, you know?
It’s funny, now that I’m looking at these pictures (photo editing and blogging is the worst BEST way to see what works and what doesn’t), I noticed that I probably should have worn the belt that came with this jacket. It has a very loose, mod style shape and I like how it feels, except perhaps a little waist definition would have been better? I like wearing things a little looser most of the time. Tighter things just sort of feel really uncomfortable and I enjoy a looser silhouette. I think it’s part of the evolution of dressing more for myself than anyone else. I truly am happier wearing what I like versus what other opinions I may get. This includes my husband, who prefers me a lot more casual than I typically dress. His favorite look on me is a pair of boot cut jeans and a simple tee. Luckily he isn’t the type to make a big deal either way over what I wear, though he does give me the side eye sometimes;) After almost 14 years together we have evolved where we can joke about each other and not take it so seriously. I love hearing what he has to say about certain looks, he can be pretty funny with his descriptions. Half the fun sometimes is putting on something crazy-ish when we are running errands and seeing what he’ll come up with in regards to opinions. That man, he sure does make me laugh (and isn’t that the best when it comes to a partner?!)
