I’m pretty sure that if you’ve spent any amount of time here (and follow me on social media, too), you know I tend to obsess about things. I find something I like and I either wear it to death, or research the living daylights out of it until I’m satisfied I know everything there is to know. My first love? This HM lightening bolt sweater. My sister in law picked it out for me and I love that she knows me well enough to find something I would love. It’s the perfect amount of softness and slouch, the graphic pattern mixes well with prints and basics, and I just adore it. I may or may not have worn it five days in a row last week.
Moving on to item two of my obsession filled life, this sweater above and everything else in the American Eagle store right now. Let me start by saying I’m not typically a mall shopper. I get really overwhelmed with all the options and give up easily. I like stand alone stores that I can pop in and out of that don’t have a lot of distractions (have you ever brought two kids to the mall? Shudder.) A couple of weeks ago my car was in the shop, and while I was waiting for it I discovered they had a shuttle service that brought folks to the mall and back while their car was being fixed. (Winning.) My mom and I hopped the first car over there and I discovered the awesome-ness of American Eagle right now. It is a boho/hippy/Summer paradise in there and I bought a pair of jeans and the cardigan you see above. I am in LOVE with this cardigan! It’s long and gives off that Grandpa/professor vibe while still being body conscious and pure perfection. I like that is looks great with jeans, yet equally good with harem pants (only $15!) and a tee. It’s another example of how a neutral basic can really make a wardrobe better.
Lastly, I realize I am a couple of years behind this whole Divergent book series phenom (I’m a procrastinator in all areas of my life in case you were wondering.) I put off reading it forever because I wasn’t sure I would be into it. I’m not typically a sci-fi/dystopian world type of book reader. I mean, I read Hunger games and liked it well enough, but wasn’t sure another book of that type would be worth it. I was wrong. I downloaded the first one last Sunday and finished it in about an day and a half and the other books by the end of the week. I loved it. I think it is so much better than the Hunger Games, and other than the ending of this series (I’m a little bitter about it and I refuse to accept it, anyone else with me?), I thought it was fantastic. I can’t wait for the movie to come out this week and see this world come to life.
Tell me, what are you obsessed about right now?
