I’ve had a challenging work week this week in particular, and find I come home and spend A BIT too much time online shopping and browsing at night. Hey, it relaxes me! Also, what’s more fun than coming home to a package or two on their front porch just waiting to be opened? (Answer: NOTHING.)
I’ll be honest and say that I browse a lot more than I buy, and tend to only buy from places that have free shipping and returns (Nordstrom, Target, etc), and I look a lot more than I buy. I also go in phases of buying a lot some weeks and buying nothing for a month or more. Right now I’m in a buying phase, mostly because the spring stuff is in and it is CUTE. Forgive me.
Let’s go over a few hits and misses I’ve bought lately, shall we?
I ordered this ballet neck striped top after seeing it on another blogger and it is cute! I love to tuck it into a pair of jeans and create a body suit look with it (which I distinctly wearing a bodysuit and jeans to a 7th grade dance, so THAT’S WEIRD.) I bought a medium and it fits well, and the quality is really great, too. It’s a keeper.
I purchased these faux leather leggings in a size medium a couple of weeks ago and they are amazing. The look great under dresses or with a tunic and cute sneakers, I just love the versatility of them. They are also only $28!
I’ve been looking for a pair of high waisted flared leg jeans for awhile, so I ordered these Blank NYC ones from Nordstrom in a size 27. I have another pair of ripped boyfriend jeans (that I LOVE) from this brand in a size 27 and they stretched, so I mistakenly thought this size would work in the flared version. WROMG. The 27’s were really tight in the waist! I could button them up, but they were uncomfortable, and also really long. I would have had to get them hemmed. I returned them.
I found this white Angel Dress from Free People (via Nordstrom), when they had it on a momentary sale for $75 last week. I’ve been looking for the perfect white summer dress that would look good both at the beach and out running errands, and thought it was IT. When it arrived (bought the XS), it was more of an off white color and wasn’t flattering on me (seen here.) The details and quality were amazing, I just wasn’t in love. Returned.
Another dress I ordered because I liked the simplicity and versatility of it was this ruched long sleeve dress in black from Leith (Nordstrom) in a size small. I love this dress! I wore it dressed up for a Monat event, and the next day for a casual lunch with a friend, it works for everything. I want the sleeveless version in grey (though I may go up to a medium for a more casual look), and would recommend this dress to anyone. It is formfitting, though, so be aware;)
Now, can you talk me into ( or out of) these sneakers? Which AGAIN, I owned in the 90’s already. I can think of about 4,387 outfits to style them with…
Tell me, what have you bought and loved (or hated) lately?
