It’s been a few weeks since I’ve dropped into your feed, so HI! I feel like I was in a writing slump for a bit and I was just sort of flowing with that, not forcing anything. It’s that feeling, when you feel like you should do something and it just isn’t working. I am learning to flow more with that, just because I should doesn’t mean that I NEED to, you know (besides normal life stuff that happens no matter what lol.) My creative self ebbs and flows, sometimes words and ideas just pour out of me, and sometimes there’s just…nothing. And I panic for a minute, feeling like it will last forever, but it never does. Life itself, and everything in it ebbs and flows, there are times for productivity and times for rest. I’m working on getting better at the rest part.
It has been a slow and restful Summer over here, which is very different than last Summer (a cross country move, a full scale renovation, etc…) and I have been loving it. I’ve been giving my expectations of myself a break and it has been nice to just turn things ‘off’ after many years of feeling like two needed to show up and be ‘on’ all the time in my online life. It’s been really great.
Anyway, I’ll include some links of stuff I found interesting this weeks as well as some awesome clothing items I’ve purchased!
And what I’ve gained by letting go of diet culture ideals and disordered eating (though it’s a process/journey.)
This is the orange suit I’m wearing in the pic! I was returning something to Target and it caught my eye and I scooped it up. I like how the top is bra sized (I/m wearing the D/DD option) and how the bottoms have a high cut in the front (I’m wearing a large but could have done a medium, too.)
I don’t have these jeans (yet) but I have been influenced to add them to my cart. My favorite pair of jeans right now are from Target and were only $22 (like these!) and I am excited to try them out! I’ll keep you posted…
I ordered this dress (in a medium) for my birthday, but found it to be a bit too fancy for that, BUT, I am saving it for another occasion! You can see me wearing it here. *Note: it has an open slit in the back, so you can either braless or wear sticky boobs.
I did end up keeping this dress for my birthday (we will be on vacation that week!) I bought a medium in this and it is cute! I wear this bra underneath strapless styles.
These sneakers were a total splurge for my birthday! I took advantage of the Nordstrom sale (along with these boots….) and they are so fun. I found I reach for fun sneakers over every other shoe in my closet and these were just too fun to pass over. Again, a total splurge, but life is short, right?!
I am really intrigued by this coffee table (I have been on the hunt for a good one FOREVER.) The reviews are great and the price is even better.
I bought this cardigan in two colors to wear this Fall/Winter and it is awesome! I bought the medium in the green and rust color.
I also bought this tunic in black and white (size medium) to wear while working. The quality is awesome and I love how I can wear them with skinny work pants.
Also, Old Navy Pixie pants are the best for work. The ankle ones are sold out (BUMMER), but these full length ones are really good. I bought my typical size 8 and they fit perfectly.
This Amazon dress is almost identical to my Free People version! I set them side by side and the only difference is the actual fabric, and the Amazon one is $100 cheaper….
Okay, that is it for this week! We have a busy last few weeks of Summer coming up….my son is turning 12, I am turning 41, we are heading on vacation, and then my in laws’s come to visit, and then school begins again. Eek! Plus, football for my son and I’ll begin substitute teaching again. I am soaking the quiet up as we speak and don’t plan on leaving the house for the next few days.
How is your Summer going?
